Revitalise Your Skin With The Help of Phytoceramides

Hello trusty Mattox readers. It certainly has been a long time, but I’m back to tell you that I will be sticking around a bit longer this time. A lot of people were asking me what I planned on writing about as my comeback article. Let me tell you, it certainly wasn’t easy deciding upon one particular subject to talk about, but I got there in the end.

I decided I’d write about another product that I’d tried recently – one which I actually thought did a really good job and exactly what it suggested it would do. Any guesses so far? Ok I’ll give you a clue. It’s a product that is supposed to help you with your skin. It’s supposed to make it look clearer, more youthful and help prevent wrinkles. Any ideas?
Ok, I’ll give you one more clue. It comes in a supplement form.

Still don’t know it. It’s phytoceramides of course! These little pills have suddenly become all the rage, especially in the last year or so. I have no idea what the cause of this has been. Perhaps they were featured on a popular tv show like Dr. Oz or something.

Either way, I was skeptical about trying them, as I always am when it comes to products that claim to have miracle powers of healing. I was even more skeptical than usual when it came to this product too as I’m quite sensitive about my face.

reducing wrinkles

I’ll be the first to admit, that the years haven’t been too kind to me, and especially in the last five years some big wrinkles have started to form on my face. That’s why I was reluctant to try out the phytoceramides. I’ve tried so many different face creams, serums and even supplements that purported to make my skin look healthier and revitalised, but all of them have inevitably disappointed me.

So, what was my verdict after trying the phytoceramides? I was actually pleasantly surprised. Unlike all the other so-called face revitalisers, this one did actually have an effect on me. After a couple of weeks of taking them my skin felt fresher and I noticed that my wrinkles were reducing slightly. If you’re thinking about buying some sort of supplement to help you with your skin, then my only piece of advice is that phytoceramides should definitely be your first port of call.

My Boyfriend’s New Moustache

Just like any other health and beauty blog, it wouldn’t really be fair for me to write content that is specifically for women and women only. Because of that, and because this blog is really still in it’s infancy, I wanted to write something applicable to men.

We all know that beards, moustaches and general facial hair all seem to be ‘in’ at the moment and are pretty darn fashionable.

So much so that even my boyfriend has taken on a moustache. He really isn’t the type to follow fashion, but he began to notice that facial hair was becoming more and more commonplace, and even allowable in the workplace. To begin with he decided to grow a moustache rather than starting with a full on beard.

It’s roughly 4 months since he began, and his moustache is very large and thick now. In fact he looks a bit like Tom Selleck! What he didn’t realise when he set out is that moustaches actually need a great deal of attention and care from time to time. Everything from combing to washing to brushing to moisturising is needed almost on a daily basis.

Some of these things he can do fairly cheaply, but others do burn a slight hole in his pocket. Sometimes he tells me that he wouldn’t have bothered to grow a moustache if he’d known that it was going to cost so much money.

Luckily he began using a certain wax on it and he found this kept it clean, smelling nice, and also (as it was wax) helped him to shape and style it whenever he wanted. Some of them were available to buy in different cases and containers, but eventually he found one that was a tin sized moustache wax. He really likes having it in a tin as it means he slip it into his pocket and take it with him wherever he goes. Which of course means he can use it whenever he wants, as long as he has a mirror nearby.

You can trust his word – It really is a great accessory if your tash is getting a bit too big to handle.

Is There Anything Bentonite Clay Can’t Do?

My passion is beauty accessories so it’s safe to say that I’m always aware and on top of new products as and when they come out. One that has been around for a good few years now, and hasn’t waned in popularity one iota is bentonite clay, or what some call Indian healing clay. It comes in powdered form and has such a huge number of various uses that I think I’ve lost count.

In the next few paragraphs I’ll try and explain the product in as much detail as possible and tell you all about the different ways in which you can use it.

So, as I said it comes in a powdered form. It’s mainly bought to be used as a clay mask. This is something you can easily make yourself at home.

All you have to do is place a small amount of the clay in a mixing bowl. Next you add a tiny amount of water to the powder and mix the two together until you have something that has a consistency that is similar to paste. Once this is done you’re ready to go.

All you have to do now is apply to the paste to your face (or anything other part of your body if you like) and wait for it to dry. This can take up to about 30 minutes. Once this is over you want to rinse the clay off your face with water. Warm water is usually best for this.

A lot of you may be wondering what the point of all of this is. Well, once you rinse the mask off your face you’ll exactly why people do it. Your skin on your face will feel completely rejuvenated and fresh. Trust me, there’s no feeling like it.

This is hands down the most popular use of the clay, but as I said there are others. For example you can add some of the powder to your bath. Although this doesn’t look particularly clean or hygienic it definitely makes for a very relaxing bath and does a very good job of softening your skin.

It also has strong health (as well as beauty) benefits. I haven’t tested this myself but apparently Bentonite and Indian healing clay can really improve your digestion. Whats the best way to ingest the powder? Good question. You can simply add a small amount of it to a glass of water and drink one of them a day. I’ve heard of people doing this and experiencing significant improvements in their overall digestion.
